Version v1

Inherent risks of equine activities

I understand that horses are large, powerful animals whose behavior can be unpredictable. Equine activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to being kicked, bitten, stepped on, thrown, or falling from a horse; risks from uneven terrain, weather, wildlife, and ranch equipment; and the possibility of serious injury, disability, or death. I voluntarily choose to participate with full knowledge of these risks.

Idaho equine activity notice

WARNING: Under Idaho law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, Idaho Code Sections 6-1801 through 6-1802.

Assumption of risk and release

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I assume all risks of participation and release, waive, and agree to hold harmless The Remuda, Rawhide Gypsy, their owners, staff, volunteers, landowners, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of my participation, except for acts of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Health, fitness, and medical consent

I confirm that I am physically able to participate and have disclosed any medical condition, injury, allergy, or medication that could affect my safety. In the event of an emergency, I authorize The Remuda to arrange emergency medical treatment at my expense.

Rules and instruction

I agree to wear appropriate footwear and any required safety equipment, to follow all instructions from ranch staff, and to refrain from participating under the influence of alcohol or impairing substances. The Remuda may end my participation at any time for safety reasons.

Emotional wellness disclosure

I understand that equine-assisted retreat experiences are reflective and educational in nature. They are not therapy, counseling, or medical treatment, and they are not a substitute for care from a licensed mental health or medical professional.
