The drive from Boise

The ranch sits in the high desert outside Mountain Home, roughly an hour southeast of Boise on straightforward highway. Parking is on site and the barn is the first thing you'll see. Confirmed guests get exact directions, arrival time, and what to wear a few days before the date.

Give yourself a few extra minutes. The last stretch is open country, and arriving unhurried changes how the first hour lands.

Choosing a season

• Late spring — green stretches across the desert and the mornings are cool
• Summer — bright and hot by midday; evening retreats are the sweet spot
• Early fall — the steadiest weather of the year and the best light for photos
• Winter — quiet, cold, and beautiful; layers matter more than anything else

Day retreats vs. private group dates

Most gatherings are day retreats with a set arrival and finish window, listed on the site with remaining spots. Groups — a team, a birthday, a church or friend circle — can also reserve the ranch for a private date shaped around what you want the day to do for the group.

What to wear in the high desert

Closed-toe boots or sturdy shoes, long pants, and a wind layer. The desert turns over quickly and the wind is the thing people underestimate. Sunscreen and a water bottle matter in every season, including winter.
